The Department of Sociology and Social Work congratulates our second year student Ms. Jayne Nthiga who has made it into Kalamazoo College's Winter Dean's List. Jayne is currently on a 9-month exchange program at Kalamazoo College, Michigan USA. Congratulations Jayne and continue to fly the Department of Sociology & Social Work, University of Nairobi and the Kenyan flag higher still!!

This Symbol of Honor was presented to Emeritus Prof. Amb. Judith Mbula Bahemuka on 29th April 2021 during a virtual event organized in her honor by the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) and the UNESCO/UNITWIN Chair. Prof. Bahemuka taught and mentored many students at the Department of Sociology and Social Work before being appointed to head the UNESCO/UNITWIN Chair.
