Institute of Social Work Professionals Bill

On Tuesday, April 23, the Association of Social Work Educators in Kenya submitted their views and recommendations on the Institute of Social Work Professionals Bill to the Departmental Committee meeting at the National Assembly Main Chambers. Our Chair of the Department, Professor G.G Wairire,  was present in this meeting. The bill has the potential to enhance professionalism and effectiveness of social workers in Kenya, ultimately leading to improved outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

 

Professor Edward Ontita leads CELARS project

The University of Nairobi hosted a kick-off consultancy meeting for stakeholders on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to establish the Centre for Land Acquisition and Resettlement Studies (CELARs), which will be located in Kilimani, Nairobi. Various stakeholders, including the Kenya National Highways Authority, World Bank, Kenya School of Government, and AKI consultants, attended the meeting.
