Disaster management is a science concerned with the systematic process of using administrative decisions, organization, operational skills and capacities to implement policies, strategies and coping capacities of the society and communities to lessen vulnerability to hazards and related disasters. A key component of disaster management is Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), which is a systematic approach to identifying, assessing and reducing the risks of disaster.
