The Department of Sociology and Social Work is participating in activities in the collaborative agreement between University of Nairobi and Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA). The Department of Civil and Construction Engineering is leading the University side in the collaboration. The collaboration will initially focus on operational research in KeNHA to improve project processes and outcomes. Ultimately research proposals will be produced for solicitation of funding. Furthermore, there will be exchange expert personnel in the field of mutual interests and on terms to be agreed and joint organization of scientific meetings such as seminars, conferences, and colloquia. Prof. Edward Ontita of Department of Sociology and Social Work is leading a team working on the research topic, ‘Environmental Impacts of KeNHA Roads’. The study results will be applied in KeNHA’s Environment and Social Safeguards Directorate.
